There Are Two Ways To View Low Points— Only One Makes You Better

Practice this mindset when you’re in the pit.

Everyone says the same thing when something terrible happens: give it time.

True. But is that all it takes?

Surely there’s a difference between the drunk who takes four years to get over a divorce vs. the badass who files the papers and continues to run her company without a blimp. Or the person who resents everyone after one failed business vs. the entrepreneur who immediately goes back to the drawing board.

Remember This Quote Whenever You Feel Low

I went through a breakup.

For weeks, I couldn’t eat or concentrate on anything for more than twenty seconds. All the while I repeated the same stories in my head, each concluding with — “You weren’t good enough.”

That’s the mindset that takes a coward four years to get over someone.

Everything changed after I heard this John Lennon quote on a podcast.

“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance.”
